This could be a fun affordable daily driver.It is a very good looking car, looks like it's based on the Altima couple/g37 coupe chassis.

Anyway, I highly doubt that the S16 will be a heavy car, since the S15 spec R (the fast, turbo Silvia) weighed in at just over 2,700 lbs., which is quite lightweight (less than an FD, Chin!). The S16 will replace the s20rdett (or whatever the old engine was called) with a modified version of the Nissan X-trail's SR20vet (that must be one fast SUV!).

Notice that the article claims it should retail for 2500000 yen, which is about $20,000 US dollars and that's an FR, turbo car that cranks out 280 horse power (about 220 lb/ft torque) from 1,998 cubic centimeters of displacement. Pretty impressive.

An Introduction

Nissan Silvia is a sport based coupe car produce by Nissan Motors.The Silvia also known as 200sx in Europe and 240sx in the U.S(for S13 and S14) and 180sx in Japan.

The S15 is the latest version of the Silvia.Introduced January 16 1999,it boasting up to 250 hp (184 kW) from power output of the updated SR20DET engine with turbocharger upgrade slightly.

The S15 Silvia included aggressive styling inside and out.The S15 also upgrades its chassis and suspension, including increased use of light alloy suspension components.A six-speed manual transmission is available. The S15 offered a more effective helical limited slip unit.


For the S15 the model was(in Japan) SPEC-S (SR20DE:non-turbo) and SPEC-R (SR20DET:turbo) .Both models offering an "Aero",just look like a GT-wing and have a very impressive aerodynamics system.
